Voted in at #93, four-to-the-floor belter 'Do What You Want' was a powerful reminder why a new album is long overdue, and now the Aussie dance music mavericks have given us another reason to get excited: new single '14U+14ME' (pronounced one for you, one for me').
This one's all about the build-up, taking its time to kick off the rave race before bursting into a mad, pounding sprint to the sweaty finish. There's also a "cataclysmic, freak-out" video for your eyes to gorge upon, directed by NYC production company Georgia.
Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes' first album since 2012's Pacifica has now been gifted a name - HI VIZ - and while it doesn't have a release date, it's got a pretty impressive sounding list of guests. Julian details:
“HI VIZ is our 4th studio album - an acid-soaked circle jerk of rave nuggets, cyber croons and pub techno, made with the help of our trusty friends Alison Wonderland, DMA'S, Jake Shears [Scissor Sisters], Shane Parsons (DZ Deathrays), Michael Di Francesco (Touch Sensitive), Rromarin, Fritz Helder… and…. hell, you get the idea - a whole stack of rad humans. Way too many to mention here...”
'14U+14ME' got a positive reaction pretty much across the board following its first play on the triple j textline.
